Tiny Sleeveless V-Neck Vest
This v-neck vest is a cute pattern if you have little people in your life. A vest is also a practical garment for tiny people and toddlers – easy to wear and keeps them warm when the weather is in-between. It’s also a quick and pretty easy knit. And you can glam it up with a crazy combination of colours.

Materials:
1 (2,2) x cowgirlblues Merino Sock 50g ball in Main Colour A
1 x cowgirlblues Merino Sock 50g ball in Contrast Colour B
4mm knitting needle
From big to small we used: Sable with Guineafowl, Guineafowl with Charcoal, Charcoal with Airforce
Gauge:
10x10cm = 24sts and 34rows in stocking stitch
Instructions:
Vest Back
Cast on 54 ( 60,66 ) stitches in Colour B
Knit 8 rows in garter stitch
Change to Colour A and knit 14 (16, 18 ) cm in stocking stitch
Switch to Colour B and knit 4 rows in garter stitch
Go back to Colour A and knit 4 rows in stocking stitch
Armhole shaping
On a knit row cast off the first and last 3 (4,5) stitches
Work 3 more rows in stocking stitch
On your next row K2togtbl, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog and repeat on every 4th row until you have 32 (38,44) stitches.
To finish the back, cast off the first 6 stitches, hold 20 ( 26,32 ) sts for back neck, cast off the last 6 stitches.
Vest Front
Work as per back to armhole shaping
On a knit row cast off the first and last 3 (4,5) stitches
Work 5 ( 7,9 ) rows in stocking st ending with a purl row
Knit halfway across 24 (26, 28) stitches, turn and purl back and continue working on only these 24 (27,29) stitches.
R1 : K2togtbl, knit to last 2sts, K2tog
R2 and R4: Purl
R3 : Knit to last 2sts, K2tog
Repeat these 4 rows
R9: K2togbl, knit to last 2sts, K2tog
R10-12: Stocking stitch
Repeat these 4 rows two more times
R21: K2togbl, knit to last 2sts, K2tog
R22: Purl
Repeat these two rows 2 (3,4) more times
Cast off the remaining 6 stitches
Join yarn and repeat for the remaining 24 (26,28) stitches of the front
Armhole and neck edgings
Sew one shoulder seam closed.
Using contrast Colour B pick up back stitches, and one stitch for every row around the front neckline. Knit 6 rows in garter stitch then cast off. Join the edging and sew the other shoulder seam closed.
On the armholes, using contrast Colour B, pick up one stitch for every row and knit 6 rows in garter stitch. Cast off and sew side seams closed and your vest is finished.
