We are a design studio and dye house based in Cape Town, specialising in working with merino wool and mohair fibres.

I’m a beginner lace knitter. It takes concentration to follow a pattern for every stitch. I lose my place all the time. And at the end of the row my remaining stitch count is wrong! 🙈

If I can see the lace pattern forming in the rows I’ve already knit it’s much easier to keep my place.

Try this genius hack: Steam your project while you’re still knitting. It’s a cheater’s guide to blocking. It settles the lace pattern, you can see it more clearly, and it’s much easier to keep your project on track. 🧶✨

Tomorrow is SALE Day!

Here are some of the vibrant, unique colours you will find online when we open our Annual Sale tomorrow at 4pm Cape Town Time - That’s 4pm Frankfurt, 3pm London, 10am NYC, 9am Houston, 8am Denver, 7am San Francisco, midnight in Sydney, 11pm in Tokyo

Colours will be grouped and listed by yarn base and are mainly Merino DK, Merino Twist, and Aran Single.
There will only be a couple of colours in Merino Lace, Proper Sock and Kidsilk where we had some batches with colour issues.
In Fluffy Mohair there will be just one beautiful blue, somewhere between Guinea Fowl and Cape Storm and there are more than 10 skeins of it!

In DK, Twist and Aran we have dyed 10 skeins per colour so there is a sweater quantity available if you decide quickly.

Each year our annual sale is an opportunity to have some fun. The team gets involved in the dyeing and everyone creates their own colour. This year they all dyed Merino DK.

Even photographing the sale colours produces a lot of laughs.
