Merino DK Barbra Streisand

Our Merino DK base is a versatile, double-knitting yarn. We love it for sweaters, and it’s also great for hats.
(Think worsted weight if you’re in North America, although people apply this term to all sorts of yarns.)

This is a gentle blend of faded colours, like Barbra Streisand’s Memory “all alone in the moonlight, I can dream of the old days, Life was beautiful then.”

In stock (can be backordered)

Yentl was released in 1983. With it Barbra Streisand became the first woman to write, produce, direct, and star in a major studio film. And we haven’t talked about her music – Memory, The Way We Were, It Had To Be You, Happy Days Are Here Again. Dreamy, romantic, gentle like these soft colours. Natural is an obvious choice to use with this colourway, along with Sable, Terracotta and Faded Rose.

Since our colours are hand dyed in small batches there is variation between batches, and even within a batch.  We have a process and ingredients for each colour recipe, but can’t control how the colours “land” each time.
If you’re looking for a sweater quantity please let us know and we will dye up a batch specially for you.
