Fluffy – Miriam Makeba

Fluffy Mohair is a versatile, double knitting-ish, weight yarn. It’s soft, light and an easy introduction to mohair. And you can knit it with a huge range of needle sizes. Use a 5mm for more standard gauge fabric, or work your way up to 15mm for a light, loose fabric full of drape.

Miriam Makeba was a singer and activist who was always deeply rooted in the many different shades of African earth.

Miriam Makeba was a South African singer, songwriter, actress and civil rights activist, nicknamed Mama Africa. After meeting Harry Belafonte in London she moved to the US where she recorded her first album. Miriam Makeba became one of the first African musicians to be recognised worldwide and Pata Pata is probably her most famous song. This colourway evokes the many colours of African soil, as Miriam Makeba never forgot her roots. Make a statement like she did and combine it with Mustard, Carrot Juice, Camel or Terracotta.

Since our colours are hand dyed in small batches there is variation between batches, and even within a batch.  We have a process and ingredients for each colour recipe, but can’t control how the colours “land” each time.
If you’re looking for a sweater quantity please let us know and we will dye up a batch specially for you.
